Practice AreasQ: What is mediation?
A: Mediation is a process during which all parties of a lawsuit are present. In the presence of a neutral person, the mediator, the parties present their side of the case. The mediator will then attempt to help the parties find common ground and ultimately settle the case for a dollar amount. The role of the mediator is to facilitate communication between the parties, assist them in focusing on the real issues of the dispute.
