Employment Law

  • Q: Can I leave without an advance notice of leave?

A: In an employment contract an employee usually agrees to give a certain period of notice before leaving. Leaving without notice means breaking the contract and in such a case an employee may carry financial responsibility and an employer may sue for damages in the county court. However, it is rare, since employer’s losses are too small to try recovering them through court. Depending upon the nature of your employment, there may be many losses which the employer can claim for. If you have faced a similar problem or any other employment-related problem where your employer is trying to sue you in court of law, we can help. We have successfully helped many of our clients from Eastern Panhandle (Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan Counties), Potomac Highlands (Grant, Hampshire and Hardy Counties), and Western Maryland (Washington County) to avoid being sued by their former employers. For all your employment law needs, contact Harry Waddell Law Firm at (304)263-4988.
