$83,000 Settlement for wrongful termination of director of health department

Our client was the nurse director of a local health department who was wrongfully terminated without cause. The termination was challenged at an administrative hearing and the Board of Health was ordered to reinstate the client with full back pay and interest. When the client returned to work she was placed in a room with no telephone and stripped of her duties. We then filed suit on her behalf in federal court alleging violation of her civil rights by the Board of Health. The case was eventually settled in the client’s favor resulting in a total monetary recovery of $83,000 from both the administrative and court proceedings.
