Trial in the Circuit Court of Jefferson County West Virginia results in verdict of $162,000 for woman rear ended in car wreck

Our client was a middle aged woman whose vehicle was hit from rear while traveling on U.S. Route 340 outside of Charles Town, West Virginia.  After being transported to a local hospital by ambulance, her injuries resulting from collision were primarily frequent and chronic headaches.  Hartford Insurance which insured the driver at fault refused to pay more than $50,000 to settle the claim prior to trial.  After a two day jury trial in the Circuit Court of Jefferson County, the jury determined that fair compensation for the plaintiff's injuries should be $162,000.  The defendant did not appeal the verdict. The plaintiff was represented by Harry Waddell of Waddell Law Offices in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The defendant was represented by Bridget Cohee of Steptoe & Johnson in Martinsburg, West Virginia.  A copy of the verdict form is available for viewing in the Library section.
